This shoot was so much fun! These are stills from a video called, "Colors" shot by the amazing Jasmin Kuhn. I got to roll on the floor and play with colored dust! I would stand and look into the camera while dust flew across my face. Me and the other models also held and posed with a transparent white sheet while the wind machine made it ripple. I love the effect of my body posing behind the sheet. Ghostly :)

Wonderland at Lacma

Yesterday I went to LACMA and saw the Wonderland exhibit. I took some of these photos with my Iphone without flash. I would go in depth about the exhibit as I did with Tacey's but I'm very tired.Basically, women surrealists artists. Staring at these works you feel as if you're
looking at the individual's dreams, nightmares, or distorted realities.

Remedios Varo. A talented female artist and a anarchist. Her work is absolutely stunning. and this was one of my favorites. The sad crecent moon is locked in a cage while she feeds it stardust.

Happiness is a state of mind and not a destination

My day was great. I shot for FHI heat today and the whole team was fun and talented. I'm excited to get good shots of my hair for my portfolio.

What I love about modeling is when I'm posing I feel the emotion of the shot and I forget everything. I just focus on feeling, and transform into a different creature and naturally let my body flow into poses. I love it. Creation is a beautiful process.

After my shoot, I read my emails and saw that I had a casting in short time. So I called a taxi to head over. I was worried I would be late to the casting.

My taxi driver was a very peculiar man. I found myself facinated with him. Not that I was attracted to him, it wasn't sexual.
I am easily amused and fascinated by interesting/unusual people. To see an interesting person is like watching an actor, noticing they have a different way of behavior that makes them unique.

If you've ever seen the movie "Spider" with Ralph Fiennes (about a schizophrenic) as soon as I sat in the backseat I was instantly reminded of that character. I first felt that "oh shit" feeling when you notice someone is talking to themselves in a low voice.

Turned out he was just trying to safely get back on the road.

He asked me where I was going in a friendly and low fragile voice and I said the address. "Oh that's close.Very close." He seemed to say to himself.

Then I noticed he was so happy. Very carefree. He was driving, looked at a car, and honked twice then started laughing.

"What?"

"I was trying to say hi but it was so loud!"

He then turned on classical music. A song from Carmen. It was over-the-top giddy and reminded me of "Peter and the Wolf". When I was in elementary school the teachers would play this song at the start of the day and we would act out the different animals.

He was humming out of tune. lol. Then we talked about scooters and he said "You could drive on this street you know, very slow like 20-30 miles per hour so that no one hits you and then vvvvrrrooom!" he moved the steering wheel from side to side, moving the car with it. "maneuver, you know?"

It made me laugh.

The point is!

I had become so inside of my head before getting into that taxi thinking, "Ugh, I'm going to be late for the casting!" and then you meet someone with a different energy and the energy rubs off on you. People who are happy make me happy.

A smile is a universal language.

Also, when I got to the casting (on time), I rang the doorbell and a little boy answered it,

"Are you a serial killer?!"

It was hilarious.

Let some art into your life. Inspire. Dance. Create. Love. Be happy.

This is what the taxi ride to my casting reminded me - "Happiness is a state of mind, and not a destination"

I"m going to bed now because I'm tired and I feel like this...

I got a library card today! :) And, I found a Russian bookstore! It made me very excited because one of my best friends is russian and I seriously need to learn the language. I hang out with a group of russians in Phoenix, AZ and its basically like Charlie Brown's teacher,

Previete = hello. Paka = goodbye.

Hello peeps, it's been awhile. I was sick with mono, which is no fun, because not only are you a worthless lazy drag who sleeps for 20 hours a day but you also have your friends teasing you "Who did you kiss???!" Well, I didn't kiss anyone! :p So there.

Now i'm well and feeling much better :)

I remember the day we shot this story. It was a lot of fun. The whole crew was a blast to work with! And a bonus- I also got to work with my friend Dani! Dive into our romantic ethereal wonderland...

Beautiful sunset, great clothes...

I worked yesterday and today. I worked for You Magazine which will come with the Daily Mail in London, one of my favorite cities ever. The Beverly Thompson is gorgeous. We shot on the roof next to the pool, which had Swarvoski crystals on the tile, shining in the California sun. Gorgeousness.

I'm exhausted at the moment. Mostly because of lack of sleep. I decided to go rollerskating with my friends Dani Lundquist and Sean Michael last night. It was well worth it! I felt like a little kid as soon as my skates glided on the wooden rink. I started giggling. I fell two times, and even falling is fun! It's the unexpected and the thrill before you hit the floor. Though the first time I fell I hit my tailbone hard...That's a bitch.

When I was skating, my mind wandered. I kept comparing rollerskating to life. In life if you fall, you get back up. You don't care about how others look at you, it's about your happiness. And nothing in life is learned quickly. If you want to be good at something you have to keep trying. I plan on rollerskating again soon

Sugar cookies with Pink Floyd

Cookies!!!!!!! Today I made cookies whilst singing to Pink Floyd's The Wall. Fun-ness. I made these cookies for a bake sale my work is doing. It's for charity for the holidays. How can you say no? If we all did a small charitable thing for the holidays think about how many people we could help! I urge you to do something.

I used Earth Balance instead of butter because I knew if I went out and bought butter I'd never use it again. It turned out alright but it was hilarious to watch because the cookies sizzled on the cookie sheet in the oven with tiny bubbles. Never seen that before. But, they survived and they're tasty.

Ghost in my apartment?

My roomate told me that there used to be a ghost in the apartment I am living in right now.

She figured there was a ghost when weird little unimportant things would happen. Nothing terrifying ever happened just small things that made no sense. She heard a thud once and went to the bookshelf and found a stack of books perfectly set on the floor. Another time she took out a video recorder and asked the ghost to show themselves. Every time she did that an orb of light would fly by in the camera screen.

The ghost is supposed to be gone. Sage was lit and aired throughout the entire apartment with the windows open, shooing the ghost out into the world outside.

Here are the only proofs that I have that there is still a ghost in this apartment.

1. My blow dryer went off by itself and then turned itself off

2. My shower curtain moved by itself

If anything interesting happens (blood sweating from the walls, possession, bed shaking, writing on the mirrors) I'll let you know.

I modeled for a shoot two days ago and yesterday that was Los Angeles inspired. We went to many interesting locations in Hollywood and we chilled in Venice for some cool photos. The fog rolled in towards the end of the day which made the light amazing by the beach.

A shot from behind the scenes while we were shooting on Venice beach. This artist has an amazing painted truck with a chair on top of the hood and he let me sit on it for a photo. :)

It was quite adventurous shooting on this location. We received lots of weird and hilarious comments from passerbys, and everyone wanted to take pictures of us working.

I was posing on cement steps and ended up putting my hand in bird poop. Followed by a "OOOHHHH gross!"

Also shot with a man who was selling his paintings (not the man above). This guy was prone to anger and I'm assuming he was drunk. I sat by him for a photo opportunity and he shoved my shoulder. Let it be known that I can be a sassy bitch and I said "Oh no, you don't fuckin' do that." "You're a bitch!" and hilarity ensued as we were shooting because he kept flipping me off in the shots. Obviously, we did not spend a long time on this shot for safety reasons. Afterwards I had fun giving him the bird.

Another great moment was when we spotted this battery powered car called a California Roadster.

You can find plenty of odd, interesting, artistic things on Venice beach. There's a man who rollerblades and plays an electric guitar. Another guy was standing on a stool holding two fake snakes and only wearing a leopard skin loin cloth. And there's muscle beach where the people pump some iron. My favorite part is smelling the inscense and looking at the art.

On September 23rd, I got to go to Paramont Studios! Yes, I was like a little kid in a candy shop, super excited. This is where the Teen Vogue runway show was set up. The outfits were colorful and fresh. Some models were dressed more glamorous Hollywood, whereas others were school girls from the fifties. I was a school girl in cute white socks with loafers, a short plaid skirt, a button up shirt with a v neck sweater, and a cape. I also wore a hat that reminded me of Stan from Southpark. The show was sponsored by Coach. We had adorable Coach shoes and bags and my very cute navy blue cape was by Coach. The show was on a movie set with buildings that were pressed together and looking very New York-ish. The models went inside the buildings that looked like New York apartments and upstairs for hair and makeup on the second floor. There were five buildings and at the inside of each door before the show started a group of models would wait until we got our cues. Then one by one we would strut our stuff out the door and down the front steps then walk along a street and walk up onto the sidewalk for some photo opportunities. Then we walked further along to another apartment building, walked up the steps, and walked inside.

I won't forget this unique show.

Tracey Emin's exhibit in London

When I was in London about a month ago I went on a quest to find the Hayward Gallery so that I could see Tracey Emin's exhibition, "Love is what you want." It was amazing. Afterwards, blown away, I stopped in the gift shop and bought her autobiography "Strangeland."
Tracey was born in Croyden in 1963 and spent her childhood in Margate. She had plenty of hard times. She talks about being raped at a very young age and always moving places with her mother. She talks about her twin Paul going to prison. What makes her story remarkable is that no matter what she went through, she remained strong and still held a romantic point of view about life.

Tracey is a contemporary artist who uses her interesting life experiences in her artwork. My favorite part about her art is how blunt and raw it is. She's showing you some of her soul and its very beautiful that anyone can be so open. Her art reminded me of riot grrrl rock, feminism, and romanticism. A hard life through an honest perspective. It's full of sexual adventures, pain, anger, happiness, and love. You go through a range of emotions walking through the gallery and you don't leave unscathed.

When you walk into the gallery the first room is full of blankets.

The second room has neon signs. My favorite sign reads "People like you need to fuck people like me," which I thought was hilarious. Another favorite reads "Those who suffer, love".

Then there are films, drawings, a video of her and her mom having a conversation, a very cool chair...

She has a room full of memorabilia from her childhood living in Margate and then there's a room for trauma. Tracey went through two difficult abortions and in the exhibition she discusses the events. It made me very angry to think about how careless the doctors were who worked on her.

Then there's more. In fact, there is an upstairs! There are drawings (a collection of drawings that when shown in order show a mini movie of a woman masterbating) and paintings and sculptures.

Her sculptures are phenomenal. Salem was my favorite which was named after the Salem witch hunt. Emin says she made this piece when she was suffering from ideas of persecution and being damaged.

There is much, much, much more to this exhibit! The only way to experience it is by visiting the gallery.
I'm really glad I took the time to go. It made me happy to see a woman who's not afraid to express herself in a controversial way and who's staying true to herself. Viva strong women!

Foods for the skin

I'm really passionate about skin care, so I'm going to tell you foods that are great for your skin. The more healthy foods you put on the inside the better you'll look on the outside! And you'll feel great!

-Water
If you are dehydrated then it will show in your skin. The more water you drink, the better. It's a guaranteed mood lifter and it helps your skin to glow. Experts recommend 8-12 glasses of clean filtered water daily.

-Salmon

I eat salmon as much as I can. It is full of Omega 3 Fatty Acids which are extremely good for your skin and your brain. I've noticed that when I eat salmon for dinner, my skin is noticeably clearer the next day. It's also a great food if you want to fight the signs of aging. If you're a vegetarian then walnuts and hemp seeds are also great sources of Omega 3.

-Avocado

Great for using topically, avocado also has healthy fats. Its also been used for a very long time for skin treatments and also under eye creams. It has vitamins A, D, and E which are all very good for the skin.

-Low Sugar

I try to stay away from sugar. Too much sugar can cause acne and it can also help to form wrinkles because it interferes with the skin's collagen build up. I mean, I can't help but eat some delicious cheesecake sometimes! But basically just eat sugar in moderation

-Kale

Kale has an extremely high amount of vitamin C. Vitamin C is very important for the production of collagen and cell growth which is essential for great skin. Strawberries, kiwi, and peppers also have a good amount of vitamin c.

- Green Tea

High in antioxidants and polyphenols. It's also anti inflammatory.
